Jacob Ernst has been with The Voss Group since 2017. Jake started on our team as a paraplanner working directly with Elwyn on business succession, executive compensation, and personal financial planning. With Elwyn as his mentor, Jake has learned first hand the value of purpose driven planning and how to leverage life insurance as a multipurpose tool within a well-crafted business succession or personal financial plan.
Jake recognizes that all planning is personal and that clients need planners like us to play quarterback with their other key professionals so planning concepts become reality. Jake is a student of the industry and is experienced when it comes to understanding the protection product options in today's market. He knows where to go to find solutions that meet our clients needs. Jake also has established expertise regarding Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplemental Healthcare plans.
Jacob was raised in the small town of Vermilion, Ohio and moved to Williamsville, NY when he joined The Voss Group. He has quickly established roots in western New York thanks to his significant other who is a Clarence native. When he’s not working on planning concepts with Elwyn, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. Jake snow boards in the winter and loves spending time on the lake in the summer.
Jake achieved a B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University where he graduated with honors. While at Ohio State, he was actively involved in mentoring and taught entry level accounting courses. Since joining the Voss Group, he serves as a mentor to younger advisors in the business through the Vision Financial Group Mentorship Program and has served as an ambassador for the New York State Agricultural Society.
Jake is a Certified Financial Planner™ and holds his FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 registrations as well as life and health license.
